This door barrier with integrated tapping bar is designed to provide effective protection for outward-opening doors while improving accessibility around building entrances. The additional low-level tapping rail creates a detectable feature for cane users, helping visually impaired pedestrians navigate entrance areas with greater confidence and awareness. Designed in line with recognised accessibility guidance, it is well suited to schools, healthcare facilities, transport hubs, residential developments and other public-facing environments.
Manufactured from durable steel and available in a range of finishes, the barrier is built to withstand everyday use in busy locations. Its robust construction helps prevent damage caused by doors opening into pedestrian routes, reducing maintenance requirements and helping to create a safer environment for visitors, staff and residents alike. Installation options can be selected to suit both new-build and refurbishment projects.
The standard barrier meets the requirements for a barrier with a tapping bar as set out in BS8300-1:2018 and BS8300-2:2018.
