Golf Ball Concrete Bollard

The Golf Ball Concrete Bollard is one of the most visually distinctive products in the Townscape Products range. Where most bollards are defined by height, the Golf Ball is defined by its width. At 425mm in diameter and just 410mm above ground, it presents a broad, rounded concrete form that reads very differently to a conventional upright bollard and suits a different set of applications entirely.

Cast from Supreme Grade Artisan Precast Concrete by Townscape Products in the UK, the Golf Ball weighs 115kg. That weight, combined with a 300mm below-ground fixing depth, gives it the kind of settled permanence that its low, broad form visually suggests. It is not going to be moved, and it does not look like it is going to be moved, which is precisely the point.

The spherical profile has a visual appeal that many standard bollard forms do not. It works particularly well in landscaped public spaces, park settings, civic plazas, heritage environments and any location where street furniture is expected to contribute to the quality and character of the surrounding space rather than simply perform a functional role. The rounded form is also inherently friendlier in pedestrian environments, with no sharp edges or hard corners to contend with.
