HVM Blocks

Townscape's Hostile Vehicle Mitigation Blocks range gives you a PAS 68 certified way to prevent vehicle incursion into a zone around a building or secure area, without compromising pedestrian movement or the look of the space you're protecting. All blocks in the range are shallow mount and require only a 100mm recess into the adjacent tarmac, concrete or paved surface, avoiding costly groundwork and interference with underground utilities.

The range is available in three formats, so you can specify pure security, security with seating, or security with planting, depending on the site:

Which HVM Block Is Right for Your Site?

All three block types share the same PAS 68 tested core, so the right choice usually comes down to how the space around your perimeter is used day to day.

Counter Terror (CT) Blocks

Best where perimeter security is the sole priority - entrances, loading areas, and locations where a low-profile, purely functional block is preferred. View CT Blocks.

Timber Seating CT Blocks

Best for office campuses, public buildings, and areas with regular staff or visitor footfall, where the block can double as outdoor seating rather than standing as a purely defensive feature. View Seating CT Blocks.

Planter CT Blocks

PAS 68 Tested, Shallow Mount Protection

Attaining a PAS 68 standard requires a security product to undergo thorough, comprehensive testing within a controlled setting, and a product is only awarded the standard if it meets stringent criteria and demonstrates sufficient impact resistance. Every block across our HVM Blocks range, whether plain, seating, or planter is engineered to halt and immobilise a 7.5-tonne vehicle moving at speeds from 30mph to 40mph.

Because the range is shallow mount, installation needs only a 100mm foundation rather than a deep footing, keeping disruption, cost and programme time to a minimum on live or sensitive sites.

Uninterrupted Pedestrian Movement

A typical requirement for a perimeter protection system is to prevent vehicle access while allowing uninterrupted pedestrian movement.
