PAS 68 Bollards

Townscape's PAS 68 bollard range has been impact tested to stop vehicles from 3.5 to 7.5 tonnes at speeds up to 50mph, giving specifiers a certified physical deterrent against vehicle-as-weapon attacks. Building on our Counter Terror Block range, these bollards form part of a wider suite of hostile vehicle mitigation products designed to protect public spaces without making them feel like fortified sites.

The PAS 68 Bollard Range

The range includes root fixed, removable and shallow mount options, along with an ultra shallow mount bollard for locations where buried services or shallow substrates rule out a standard foundation depth. This flexibility matters in practice: town centres, transport interchanges and heritage locations often have utilities, drainage or archaeology close to the surface, and a foundation solution that can't accommodate that isn't a solution at all. Removable versions are also available for sites that need occasional vehicle access, such as market squares, loading bays or event spaces, without giving up the impact rating once the bollard is back in place.

Often used in series across pedestrianised streets, event spaces and building perimeters, PAS 68 bollards protect the public while keeping a space open and welcoming rather than locked down. That balance of security and openness is exactly what makes them suitable for such a broad range of sites, busy high streets, stadium approaches, government building perimeters and school entrances all have very different aesthetic expectations, but the same underlying vehicle risk.

Finishes reflect that same thinking. Bollards are available in galvanised or powder coated steel as standard, with stainless steel or polymer sleeve options where a more discreet, less overtly "security" appearance is wanted. For sites where visual integration with existing street furniture matters, a conservation area, a civic square, a school frontage, the sleeve options let a PAS 68 bollard sit alongside benches, planters and lighting without standing out as a security product.
