Leicester MK2 Polyurethane Bollard

The Leicester MK2 is one of the more visually distinctive bollards in the Townscape Products Performa-Cast polymer range. Where most bollards are specified purely for function, the Leicester MK2 has been designed with civic character in mind. Its standard finish of RAL 9005 jet black with a highlight gold top gives it a two-tone appearance that reads well in town centre settings, conservation areas, high streets and civic spaces where the quality of the street environment is taken seriously.

Manufactured in the UK by Townscape Products, the Leicester MK2 is cast from Performa-Cast polyurethane polymer, a material that combines structural durability with a weight that makes installation and handling practical for site teams. At just under 20kg, it is light enough to be managed without specialist lifting equipment, yet robust enough to perform reliably in busy public spaces over the long term.

The bollard is installed via a below-ground fix to a depth of 300mm, leaving 1040mm above the surface. For locations where occasional vehicle access is required, the Leicester MK2 is also available as a removable version, using a below-ground fix shoe that allows the bollard to be lifted out and reinstated without groundworks. This option can be selected when placing an enquiry. Both the fixed and removable versions share the same above-ground dimensions and appearance, so they can be used together within the same scheme without any visual inconsistency.

At 180mm diameter, the Leicester MK2 is slightly slimmer than some others in the Townscape polymer range, giving it a more refined profile that suits settings where a heavy-duty appearance would feel out of place. Custom colours and finishes are available on request for projects where the standard black and gold combination needs to be adapted to a specific palette.
