The Verge GR is a purpose-built highway demarcation bollard from Townscape Products, designed to meet the specific visibility and compliance requirements of road verge and carriageway marking applications. Unlike the urban public realm bollards in the wider Performa-Cast range, the Verge GR has been developed with highway use in mind, and everything about it reflects that: the standard black and white alternating stripe finish, the rectangular Class 1 reflective band, and compliance with T.R.S.G.D requirements and the Department of Transport Traffic Signs Manual Chapter 4 Warning Signs 1986.
The Class 1 reflective band provides hazard visibility both during the day and in night-time or low-light conditions, making the bollard clearly legible to drivers approaching at road speed. The alternating black and white stripe finish is a well-established highway convention that communicates hazard clearly without ambiguity.
Manufactured in the UK by Townscape Products, the Verge GR is cast from Performa-Cast polyurethane polymer and stands 900mm above ground on a 168mm diameter body. At 16.5kg it is practical to handle and install on site, and the standard below-ground fixing depth of 300 to 500mm accommodates a range of ground conditions typically encountered in highway verge settings.
The Verge GR is available in a number of configurations to suit the specific requirements of each project. Diameter options include the standard 168mm and a 127mm variant (POA). Fixing options cover standard below-ground root fix and a removable socket version for both diameters. Tape colour alternatives include red and yellow Class 1 reflective tape alongside the standard white. For locations where a higher level of vehicle impact resistance is needed, anti-ram reinforcement is available at two levels: single reinforcement and double reinforcement (POA). Paint finish options include black RAL 9005 and white RAL 9016.
